The SMS (LTE) gateway serves the central control units (Monitoring CU B / CU FF) as an additional redundant alternative to the network-based alarm option in the event of an unavailable network connection. This provides the option of moving the LTE unit to a position with better reception if required and connecting it to the central control unit via a network cable.
